They say that the first lamp was created around 70,000 BC, by using a hollow rock to cradle the flame, igniting the dark caves. Several years later, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, which brought us into the age of electrical lamps, and today, we are surrounded by street lamps, floor lamps, desk lamps… and it no longer serves to simply illuminate, but also as a stylish way to decorate your home!

Every era has brought an interesting development in the creation of furniture, from the use of materials to innovative designs. As Graham Backburn states, “ because of the greater availability of a wide array of materials than ever before, and because of an ever-expanding awareness of historical and cross-cultural esthetics, 20th-century furniture is perhaps more diverse, in terms of style, than the entire three centuries that preceded it!”

Learn with Purnima Sampat as she taps into your creative side by transforming ordinary pieces of furniture into beautiful pieces of art that are proudly, yours!
